2012 AIA Austin Homes Tour

We’re honored to be a part of the 2012 AIA Austin Homes Tour with an residential addition we built last year in South Austin with Murray Legge of LZT Architects.  The constraints of the site and Murray’s design presented some very particular construction challenges including integrating a steel frame within our timber framing to support the floor to ceiling windows on the north wall, constructing a dramatic folding glass wall in the master bedroom, and respecting the space of a beautiful heritage live oak.

Scaling Down: Moontower Furniture

From the start of Moontower in 2009, we’ve been lucky enough to work on some older houses with awesome bones, vintage pine shiplap and timbers that look amazing and are just begging for a second life.  A desire put this material to noble use and our love of backyard fun led us to build a first round of bags boards with salvaged material from our first few projects.  They turned out great, and, since then, we’ve build tables, benches, chairs, and, of course, more bags boards to donate to a cause, gift to clients, or furnish a Moontower even
