Alyssa and Nathan came to us with wishes to renovate and possibly add on to their recently purchased house (off craigslist!) in the pecan tree filled and quickly developing Holly Street Neighborhood. Blocks from the burjourning east 6th district, the location was too good to pass up, but the house left a lot to be desired; with low ceilings and small rooms, the couple knew a major renovation project was in order. A young couple with modern taste, Alyssa and Nathan had a clear sense of what they wanted from the beginning, streamlining the design process and getting into construction in a few short months. What resulted was one of our most extreme transformations yet!
An open floor plan, vaulted ceilings and shiplap walls define the feel of the space with thoughtful fixture, hardware, and material selections providing accents. One of the most exciting parts of this project was how efficient we were able to be with design. Leaving most of the structure in place, a few modest changes completely transformed this house and allowed us to stretch the budget as far as possible. Special thanks to Antonio for leading us through a complex build; because the house was originally built in 3 parts (original house + 2 additions). Leveling and foundation stabilization constantly challenged our open concept plan — thanks for your flawless execution! Alyssa and Nathan’s great taste really comes through in their material and fixture selections; thanks for all the hard work and effort — it really paid off!
