Historic Trimble House

At Moontower, it warms our hearts when we get calls from previous clients; For us, it’s a good indicator that we are reaching our goal of providing a service worth repeating. When the opportunity to work with previous clients (now friends!) arose again, we jumped at the chance. We first collaborated with Anna, David, and daughter Margaret on the design and construction of a screened porch and swing at their previous home. A short year later, we were thrilled when they called us to help out on an interior renovation and porch rebuild to make their recently purchased historic home move-in ready. In a short two months, we edited walls and cased openings to improve the overall flow between the main social spaces of the house, enclosed a loft space carving out an additional bedroom, selectively demoed drywall to expose the original shiplap walls, and spruced up existing hardwood floors and rooms with contemporary stains and paints to give the house a fresh look. Sad they had to leave behind their last Moontower porch swing (let’s be honest, it was a bed), we worked to recreate porch bed 2.0 for their new house. Their project is a great example of how some simple re-configuring and editing can go a long way in improving the function of an older house. Thanks to David and Anna for choosing to collaborate with us again and for another successful project! We are currently working on round 3 with these brave friends, with plans to build a second story addition in 2014.
