HIGHLAND MID-CENTURY
Michael and Melissa loved their mid-century house but knew it was too small for the needs of their growing family and was long overdue for repair. Their love for Marfa and passion for the Texas landscape inspired many of the finish selections and details of the home. By creating a modest addition and connecting the interior and exterior spaces, we extended the living area of the home to create a comfortable home with room to grow into for this artistic family of three. Broad windows detailed to match the height of the aluminum patio doors fill the addition with light. In contrast, the primary suite bathroom enclosed in an angled wall volume with curves instead of corners relies on thoughtfully placed skylights to fill the space with dynamic sunlight throughout the day.
